Do you have a Wool Pressing Mat?  Does it slip a bit each time you press?  Keep it in place by adding a piece of No Slip underneath.

If you've got a turntable that consists of individual pieces, I bet they slip, too.  Add a piece of No Slip underneath to hold in place.  No slipping; no kidding!

If you own any of my Templates, I know you love my No Slip Backing!  I have so many sizes and shapes of templates and rulers to choose from.  And I do custom orders, too.

But I bet you already own acrylic templates and rulers that you love.

Don't you hate that they slip?!

Turn your favorites into No Slip Templates by adding my Get a Grip Backing!

Choose from:

  • My Grey Backing
  • Original Tan Backing

Choose the size that you like:

  • 2 sheets 12.5" square
  • 1 sheet 12" x 18" (perfect to keep your Wool Mat in place when ironing)
  • 1 sheet 16" x 24"
  • 1 sheet 18" x 36"
  • 16" Diameter Circle
  • or call for a custom size

Difference between the Tan and the Grey:

  • Both 'grab' your fabric
  • The tan gets dirty-looking (watch my video to clean)
  • The tan seems to lose its grip over time (but it still grabs)
  • The grey is a bit thinner meaning you can cut more layers of fabric!

BTW - I've got a video to show how to care for your Tan No Slip Templates and keep them clean!

Use your favorite permanent adhesive to adhere the backing to your rulers and templates - permanent spray adhesive, rubber cement. etc.   I recommend testing on a small square first to make sure your glue will be permanent.

  1. Place backing material on a flat surface and smooth out any wrinkles.
  2. Apply to either side of the tan as it doesn't have a 'wrong side'.
  3. Or apply to the smooth side of the grey backing.
  4. Apply to the wrong side of your template or ruler.
  5. Place the template directly on the backing and press down all along the template.
  6. Let sit for a few minutes.
  7. Use your rotary cutter, exacto knife or even scissors to cut around the template or ruler.
  8. Trim off excess with sharp scissors.
  9. If you still have excess, use a nail file to file away any excess backing.

Note:  The Tan No Slip backing might 'stick' to painted or varnished work surfaces so avoid placing the sheets or templates face down on nice pieces of furniture! I haven't had this experience with the Grey Backing Material. If you're creating an ironing station, those laminated tables or plastic folding tables work well with the tan material.
