I've got a New Size - the SMEdium!  These templates, including the new size, were requested by Diana Stewart.  She is one busy Lady! Check out her pics of bandanas in multiple sizes plus her dog, Lady!

These templates make the Traditional style of Pet Bandanas where you insert the collar into a sewn casing. Plus, they're reversable!

----------------------------------

Check out my other bandana templates - "Dog Cat Bandanas Templates - Elastic Slip On".  Instead of inserting the collar, you just create an elastic casing that easily slips over your pet's head.

------------------------------------------------------

These Traditional Bandanas come in 2 Styles:

  • Half
  • Full

To use the Half Templates, fold fabric in half and place the straight edge of the template on the fold of the fabric.

There are now 6 Sizes to choose from:

  • XXS - 4.5" x 6" Half or Full
  • XS - 6" x 7" Half or Full
  • SM - 7.25" x 8.625" Half or Full
  • SMedium - 9.25" x 10.125" Half or Full
  • Med - 11.25" x 11.625" Half or Full
  • LG - 15.5" x 15.25" Half or Full

BTW - as with all of my new templates, the 1st measurement is Width; the 2nd is Height.

My gray No Slip Backing means that cutting easily and quickly, allowing you to make many consistently.  That means if you're making many to gift or sell, each one will look exactly alike.  Great for assembly style cutting and sewing!

To CUT:

  • If using the Full Template, cut 2 pieces of fabric exactly the size of the template.  This allows for extra fabric to create the casing to hold the collar.
  • If using the Half Template, fold 1st piece of fabric in half and place the straight edge of the template on the fold. Cut. Repeat process for the 2nd piece of fabric.

To CREATE the CASING:

  • I've added a line to the new templates that is 2" down from the top.  This is a good guide for creating the casing. You may want to adjust based on the size of the collar.  Smaller bandanas might hold smaller collars.
  • To avoid raw edges, fold down the top edge then fold down again.
  • Press then stitch down.
  • Use the 2" line on the template as a guide or you can use a Measuring Gauge, a Ruler or your cutting mat to fold down to create a casing.
  • Pin in place and stitch down.  Diana does this with decorative stitches for a nice pop!
  • NOTE:  Casing sizes might vary based on the size of the collar so make one first to determine the width of the 2 folds at the raw edge and how much you'll fold down.

No video yet on this set of templates but they're made using the same process of any traditional Collar Bandana.
