Want better Ironing/Pressing Results?
'UP' your routine with this 10 oz Continuous Mist Spray Bottle.
If you’ve done any pressing, then you already know these Ironing Pitfalls:
Issues with Spray Starch & Traditional Spray Bottles:
- White flakes & residue from spray starch.
- Inconsistent coverage with splotchy blobs of starch from spray cans or water from traditional water bottles.
- Hand fatigue & sore, stiff fingers from traditional nozzles & triggers.
- wasted money on clogged spray cans or broken nozzles.
Issue with Using Steam from your Iron:
- Tap water causes mineral buildup & clogs steam holes. This results in your iron 'spitting' causing brown or white stains.
- Distilled water causes corrosion, leaking & spitting.
- Either choice cuts down on the effectiveness & the life of your iron.
Why Use a Continuous Mist Spray Bottle:
- Get a continuous, light mist that’s evenly distributed. No more wet spots.
- Mister has an ergonomic trigger & handle design - easier on fingers & hand, even for those with arthritis.
- Unlike spray cans & spray bottles that you squeeze several times to release; the mister requires just a gentle pull of the trigger.
- Easily control amount of spray – just a bit for a spritz or much more for a powerful mist.
- Easily & quickly cover large areas - less fatigue.
- See-though bottle makes it easy to know when to refill.
- Quality of bottle means you can refill over & over again. No more cans or bottles that fill up the landfills!
- Fill with water or distilled water without causing any damage.
- Or fill with a liquid starch or a starch alternative like Best Press. You can add both undiluted or use a 50/50 mix.
- Or you can even fill with your own homemade Potato Vodka Starch. (watch my video here!)
- Cutting fabric with a ruler or template? Mist & press first before cutting to get much better results!
- This might just make for a more enjoyable pressing experience!
How to Use:
- Hold mister 6” – 10” away from material.
- To get a fine mist for 1-2 seconds, pull the trigger once.
- Or hold down the trigger for a steady, uninterrupted mist of about 3 - 4 seconds.
- Lightly mist material completely. It should be damp not wet.
- Whether using water or starch, let sit for 15-20 seconds to give time to penetrate your fabric.
- Turn fabric over so backside is face up, especially if using starch.
- Use iron to 'press’ (lift up & down) or ‘iron’ (move side to side).
- Check out this great video! Do you know the difference between ironing and pressing - if you sew and quilt it matters!
Liquid Options for Pressing/Ironing:
- Fill Mist Bottle with water or distilled water without causing any damage.
- If you like the stiffness from starch, fill with liquid starch & water using a 50/50 mix.
- Or, for a lighter more flexible finish, use a starch alternative like Mary Ellen’s Best Press. Use either undiluted or 50/50 mix with water.
- Or make your own homemade Starch using Distilled Water, Potato Vodka & optional Essential Oil. (Watch video showing Juliette's recipe. You'll want to cut it down for your 10 oz Mist Bottle.)
Additional Uses:
- Make your own Wrinkle Release Spray!
- Perfect for wrinkled fabrics or wrinkled items left in the dryer.
- Mix 1 cup warm not hot water + ½ tbsp white vinegar, + ¼ tsp scented or unscented fabric softener or ½ tsp hair conditioner.
- You can also add a bit of isopropyl alcohol or vodka.
- Place in Mist Spray Bottle & shake well.
- Mist until damp but don’t soak.
- Smooth out wrinkles with your hands. If fabric is not delicate, vigorously pull in opposite direction of wrinkles.
- Leave hanging. Check back later to see if wrinkles have released. If not, spray again, pull again, let dry.
- This should greatly cut down on the amount of pressing/ironing needed.
- As a precaution, do a test in an area that won’t show to make sure this won’t leave spots.
- Don’t have all of the ingredients? Just mist your item with water then smooth out wrinkles & let dry.
- Buy separate bottles for hair styling, pet care, plant care, skincare or household cleaning.
- Place your Dawn Dish Soap in a Mist Spray Bottle so you can leave on your counter without advertising for P&G!
- Strong chemicals or oily substances may damage your Mist Bottle so avoid them.
NOTE: Your Mister shouldn’t clog up & stop spraying. But if it does, rinse the nozzle under warm tap water then spray warm water through to clear. When refilling, add more water with your non-water solution.
