Are you a 'mouse' fanatic?!

If so, you know about these cute headbands with ears.  You may even own some!  They seem to pop up everywhere~

I had a request from Vivian Wade to make templates for the Ears as well as for a Headband Cover. She has been making these but said having templates with my grey No Slip Backing would be a big help.  So... here they are!

There are 3 templates and several purchase options:

  • Mouse Ear - to cut Outer Fabric
  • Ear Insert - to cut material for inside - foam, batting, cardboard, etc.
  • Headband Cover - to cover a purchased or handmade headband

Vivian got my first set of templates and just sent a pic of 2 sets made with them.  Aren't they cute!

If you're planning a trip to that magical place, what fun would it be to make a set for everyone!

No big travel plans?  Making these in favorite fabrics will bring smiles to all who get a set!

You can choose red, white and black polka dots fabrics or, like Vivian, make them out of any favorite fabrics at all!  This can be a crafty project made with scissors rather than a rotary cutter, a glue gun rather than a sewing machine, and all of the fun ribbons, ric-rac, trims, etc. that you can find!

The Headband Template works with the ears, but you can use this all by itself to make beautiful and fancy or fun and practical headbands.

Grab those inexpensive plastic headbands or concoct your own headband base.

As for fabrics, no need to limit yourself to quilting cotton.  Raid your scrap stash, your closet and even your linen closet.  Make these out of plush blankets, recycled T-shirts or towels to keep your hair in check whether outside or cleaning the house!

If going fancy, dress them up with loads of store bought or hand made embellishments.  Make them for the little ones in your life and let them help with the picking!
