Towel Topper - Apron Loop Template
$ 16.99
I love this Template!
Not only can you make the fastest, easiest Towel Topper ever -
But you can also make a Towel Topper to hang where you don't have your typical 'hanger'!
Most Towel Toppers require several inches of a horizontal bar to drape over your 'Topper' (think oven door), then you'd need to snap or button it in place.
This Apron Loop style works where you don't a large area or even a horizontal area.
You can hang this on a vertical Fridge Door Handle, a Cabinet Door Handle (as I've done with mine!) or even a Drawer Handle or Knob.
Simply bring the elastic or casing through the handle or knob then pull the complete Topper and Towel through the loop. Then smooth everything out and let go.

Want to dress it up a bit or don't like my headband elastic? Make a matching Casing and place elastic inside.
What fun!
- Choose 2 fabrics and fuse both with SF101.
- Cut those pieces with the Apron Loop Template.
- Fold straight edges back at least ½”; press. Want less ‘Apron’? Fold back more or cut off some of the length before ‘folding’.
- Place the 2 fabrics right sides together.
- Cut elastic headband in ½ where it was joined.
- Mark top center of fabrics by folding fabric in half or use template’s center Etch Mark.
- With 4” of looped headband, place loop down inside the 2 fabrics.
- Pin to left of elastic then tightly pin to right of elastic.
- Check placement then secure with pins or clips.
- Beginning at folded edge, stitch around with ¼”-3/8” seam allowance.
- Stitch slowly over elastic several times so as not to break your needle.
- Snip corners.
- Turn right sides out.
- Push out corners; press well.
- Fold or gather towel to fit in opening.
- Line up towel so it’s straight & even.
- Pin then stitch towel in place about 1/8” from edge.
- Hang in kitchen or bathroom!
Optional Fabric Casing:
- Rather than headband elastic, make a fabric.
- Cut strip of coordinating fabric roughly 10” to 12” long by about 2” wide.
- Fold right sides together to make a long tube. Sew long sides together w/ ¼” seam allowance.
- Turn tube right sides out, using turning tube or safety pin if needed.
- Place safety pin on one end of elastic. Feed through tube and stitch unpinned edge of elastic to bottom edge of tube. Continue to feed through to other end and stitch in place after removing safety pin.
- Stitch the 2 edges together.
- Use this casing in place of elastic with above directions.
