Who doesn't love a Candy Cane?! Better yet - these are sugar free~

These are so simple but so much fun to make!

Whether you choose red and white striped fabric, a fun Christmas pattern or use a drop cloth for a primitive look, these are sure to make a statement.

Available sizes:

  • 2.5" x 6.5"
  • 3" x 6.75"
  • 4" x 9"
  • 4.5" x 11.5"
  • 5.5" x 12"

With the No Slip Backing, you'll be able to get consistent sizes and work with a variety of fabric options.

With the steep inner curve, you'll want to trace on the back side of your fabric with a marking tool then cut with your rotary cutter and finish any missed areas with small, sharp scissors.

Try out these cutting & sewing options:

  • Cut around the template as is then sew wrong sides together with a 1/4" or scant 1/4" seam allowance to create fun, flat candy canes or add a layer or two of felt or fleece as an inner layer.
  • On fabric larger than your candy cane, trace around the template then use that as your stitching line. You can add fleece or batting as an inner layer.  When finished stitching, cut around with pinking sheers.
  • As above, trace around to get a 'fatter' candy cane that you can stuff.  Try this with wrong sides together and stuff or stitch right sides together then flip and stuff.
  • Place the template on fabric with a little more fabric at the bottom.  Trace around the template starting at the top.  When you get to the bottom, trace around then lift the template and scoot it down to extend the length of your candy cane. Continue to trace around the extended area.  This will give you a longer, taller candy cane that you can place in a jar or vase.  Make many in different lengths.
  • Pull out craft supplies and Christmas decor. Joni Londo made the examples shown here. She recycles old Christmas trees and branches and pulls them apart to wrap around as decor.  Add jingle bells, chenille stems, raffia, and more as embellishments.
