The Acorn is another great option for Fall Projects.

The simple design and No Slip Backing make cutting fast, easy and accurate!

Available in the following sizes:

• Coaster - 5.75" W x 6.75" T
• Mug Rug - 7.5" x 9"
• Pot Holder - 8.5" x 10"
• Tracing Template - 3.25" x 4"

Options:

• Use traditional fall colors and fabric patterns or lighten things up for a sweet, pretty look.
• Use one piece of fabric for both the acorn cap and acorn.
• Before cutting, stitch one fabric for the acorn cap to another fabric for the acorn.  Then cut with the template.
• Strip piece coordinating fabrics for the acorn. Stitch that block to a strip for the cap.  Then cut.
• Sew either right sides together and turn or wrong sides together then use pinking sheers for a primitive look.
• If making a pot holder, less is more.  You don't want to make it hard to grab or have anything get in the way, or catch fire!
• Add binding or leave it off (my preference).  
• If adding a pocket, using the etching on the template for placement.
• Add batting or stuffing to make them flat or a stuffie!
• Use as an applique to add to home dec items, pillows, clothing, quilts, etc.
• So many fabric choices - velvet, wool felt, felt, flannel, home dec, vinyl, pleather - have fun!
